I'm an aspiring product manager currently pursuing a B.S. in Information and Interaction Design with a minor in Artificial Intelligence at Yonsei University Underwood International College in South Korea. My passion is to humanize technology and leverage its capabilities for logical thinking and creative problem-solving. I have a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a track record of leadership, including founding and incubating two award-winning projects. I am honored to have received the “Yonsei Light-Up Scholarship” for contributing to meaningful changes in the community, and the “Yoon Ja Young Scholarship” for inspiring and uplifting fellow women entrepreneurs. This mock startup project was developed between 2022.08 - 2023.01 for five month as part of Social Venture initiative funded by Yonsei Institute of Higher Education (iHei)

Our project's innovative solutions and unwavering commitment to addressing pressing social issues culminated in our recognition as Finalists in the 2023 Yonsei Social Venture IR Pitch Competition, where we were selected by a panel of esteemed Social Venture Capitalist judges.

Roles and Responsibilities

I am the founder of this startup project and oversaw all facets of product management, spanning from feature conceptualization to operational oversight. I took the initiative to assemble a team of 12 talented individuals, each specializing in areas such as UX research, UX/UI design, business development, and marketing. Additionally, I assumed the role of presenting our business to venture capitalists through an Investor Relations (IR) pitch.

Problem

Problem Statement The prevailing societal emphasis on 'prior work experience' as a key hiring criterion poses a substantial challenge within the job market. It causes underutilization of latent talents, which includes newcomers, those with career gaps, women, the elderly, and self-employed individuals. This issue leads to limited employment prospects for various segments of the workforce and causes untapped market potential
This project was initiated in response to a striking paradox within the job market:
1.
Emerging professionals entering the job market seek employment opportunities.
2.
Most jobs, even the entry-level positions, often require prior work experience.
3.
However, gaining prior work experience is challenging when one is seeking their first job.
In other words: Seeking employment require prior experience, yet acquiring such experience necessitates securing a job first.

Background

This project was created as a part of the inaugural SKY Universities' hackathon, hosted by the three universities’ computer clubs and sponsored by AWS, Elastic, and Slack.

The event took place at the AWS Korea office, where teams had a mere 22 hours to ideate, prototype, code, demo, and present their innovative creations.
•
Our team's expertise and exceptional utilization of Elastic Search capabilities to enhance the project's functionality were recognized with "Special Award: Elastic Search."

Roles and Responsibilities

My role in this project was product development and front-end development member. My primary responsibility was to find market opportunities and address the pain points of collaboration in a real-life work environment between different roles (designers, developers, sales, etc.) and to create a thoughtful solution to better facilitate collaboration. Additionally, I dedicated my efforts to crafting a seamless and intuitive user interface, with the aim of delivering an optimal user experience throughout the application.

Problem

Problem Statement The industry of AI tools for productivity and collaboration is facing the problems of deluge of information due to proliferation and overabundance of AI tools in the market. Consequently, this leads to inefficiencies and waste of resources, as users are unsure which tools to employ and how to apply them effectively.

Hackathon Theme

Upon careful analysis, our team discerned a theme of "collaboration" within this visual. Given our each of our team mates' rich involvement in the startup community, we were particularly drawn to exploring the intricate cross-team dynamics that play a pivotal role in nurturing productive collaboration throughout various phases of a project.

Abstract This paper investigates the reciprocal relationship between social media algorithms and users, and the potential impact on the social media environment. As social media increasingly becomes an essential part of everyday life of Gen-Z, there are concerns about how its algorithms may influence users. We examine the extent to which users understand and use the algorithm, and the tactics they employ to do so. Additionally, we categorize users into content creators and content users, exploring how these questions apply to each group. By surveying 508 content users and conducting in-depth interviews with content creators, we provide both quantitative and qualitative data. Our findings indicate that users understand and actively manipulate algorithms to suit their preferences. We argue that algorithm designers must consider users' interests to ensure ethical and effective designs. This research has important implications for the future of algorithmic design.

The Problem/Opportunity

사회적 기업은 늘어나고 있고, 윤리적 소비에 관한 관심도 많아지지만, 낮은 인지도와 높은 진입장벽 때문에 이윤보다는 가치 창출을 목적으로 하는 사회적 기업들은 대다수가 적자인 상황이며, 이에 따라 초기의 사업 구조를 유지하기 어려운 상황입니다.
이와 같은 문제를 해결하기 위하여 달라온은 시장에 진출에 어려움을 겪고 있는 사회적 기업들의 pain point를 분석하여 솔루션을 제공하고, 자립성있고 지속가능한 사회적기업의 생태계와, 윤리적인 소비문화를 이끌어내고자 합니다.

달라온은 2021년 와디즈 펀딩을 통해 ‘성수 사회적 기업, 소상공인들과 함께 하는 선물박스’를 성황리에 마무리하였습니다. ‘공간 와디즈’, ‘소영씨스토어’, ‘공드리워크샵’, ‘피에스비 커피바’와 같은 기업과 고고도(gogodo) 작가님과 함께한 이 프로젝트는 277%의 달성률을 거두었고, 총 1,387,000원의 펀딩으로 프로젝트를 끝마쳤습니다.

프로젝트 개발 목적

인터넷, SNS, TV에서는 맛집 정보가 넘쳐나고, ‘맛집 탐방’ ‘푸드파이터' 와 같은 키워드가 트렌드로 떠오르는 만큼, 식문화는 많은 사람들에게 즐거움을 선사합니다.
하지만 이러한 현상은 시각장애인들에게 괴리감을 선사하고, 심리/사회적 고립을 증진하는데 기여합니다. 여기저기 맛집에 관한 리뷰들이 즐비하지만, 이를 눈으로 볼 수 없고, 정보의 다양성도 부족하고, 직접 찾아가기도 어려운 시각장애인에게는 쉽게 접근하거나 즐기기 어려운 문화이기 때문입니다.
DINEASY는 시각장애인, 저시력자, 시니어 등 ‘시각의 보조'가 필요한 사용자를 위한 음성 기반 음식점 추천 및 내비게이션 모바일 앱 입니다.
DINEASY는 기술혁신을 통하여 기존 사회적 취약계층이 직면했던 물리적 장벽을 허물고, 배리어프리 (barrier-free) 앱 서비스를 제공하여 시각적 취약계층의 편의와 자율성을 증진하고자 합니다. 궁극적으로 기존 시각의 보조가 필요한 사회적 약자들의 음식점 “정보의 접근성” 문제를 해결함으로써, DINEASY는 크게 두 가지 가치를 창출하여 타겟 유저들의 전반적인 안녕, 행복, 그리고 사회적 통합에 기여합니다.
